While there is a mad rush towards IT and aligned branches, there are a few Core branches which will have demand always. In this article we will discuss about these Evergreen Engineering branches.

This implies that while employees leave, there is no backfill. Also employees are loosing their jobs as well. So, you will have to decide whether IT is a right option to choose now.
However there are a few branches which will be generating good opportunities in the future. These are ECE, EEE and Civil. Let us analyze why these are potential branches in India.
There is a major thrust towards semiconductors and electronics. There is a focus towards mining rare minerals required for semiconductors and other electronic components. We are also seeing wars being fought for Rare minerals. Effectively the roadmap is to do chip making in India itself and this will create huge job opportunities for ECE students.
We find it difficult to live comfortably without power even for 1 hour. Hence Electrical Engineers will be in demand. Also with the push towards renewable energy globally, potential is huge.
Finally to one of the traditional branches, neglected by several aspiring students . Yes, we are referring Civil Engineering. With major push towards infrastructure development in terms of roadways, waterways , airports, Defence corridors etc. Civil will be in demand. As urbanization increases, more and more opportunities will come for Civil Engineers.
So the choice is yours . Whether you want to follow IT or take up one of these Evergreen Engineering branches with huge potential in the future.
